Rescue Engine 171 is our primary apparatus for responding to motor vehicle accidents and other rescue type calls. It is a 2003 Pierce Dash with an 8-man enclosed crew cab and carries 750 gallons of water with a Waterous 1250 GPM pump. This unit is powered by a Detroit 60 Series diesel rated at 500 HP. Our new rescue engine is also equipped with a 6000 watt Night Scan light tower, Amkus hydraulic extrication equipement and Paratech air struts and air bags for heavy rescue.
